Water consumption meter readings are taken automatically several times per hour and the data is collated, monitored and analysed in a central database or Monitoring & Targeting (M+T) system.

This is an excellent method for detection of anomalies in water consumption and an early indicator of increased consumption due to leaks and failed equipment.
