Water savings in the UK benefit the World’s poorest countries
A new initiative from ADSM plc, the water management specialists, will see one per cent of their revenue go to WaterAid, the UK’s only charity dedicated exclusively to the provision of safe domestic water, sanitation and hygiene education for the world’s poorest people.
This 2007 initiative gives ADSM’s customers the opportunity to directly contribute to sustainability in the UK whilst contributing to the supply of fresh water in developing countries.
ADSM assists UK organisations to reduce their water usage and leakage across a wide portfolio of buildings and sites.
Working hand in hand with its customers to meet water saving and sustainability targets, ADSM reviews an organisation’s water-consuming assets and operating practices, identifies opportunities for savings, and improves water usage efficiency. ADSM shares a percentage of the proven savings over a three-year period, so there is no up-front investment needed from their customers to realise their water savings.
Andrew Cook, Director of Fundraising and Communications at WaterAid says “WaterAid is delighted to be partnered with ADSM and its Water Services Contract. The money generated from water saved in the UK workplace will make a real difference to the lives of the world’s poorest people by providing clean water and safe sanitation. We would urge all businesses to sign up to the water services contract and thank ADSM for its support”
Patrick McCart, Director at ADSM said “Our clients can now reduce water consumption, save money and contribute to their corporate social responsibility (CSR) objectives, whilst knowing that they are assisting people in developing countries. Our initiative with WaterAid could bring fresh water to thousands of people – a basic human right in the 21st century”
